A very interesting and unusual 19th century burr walnut pistol box. Most probably for a squeezer pistol or derringer. Unusual small partition on left hand side with sliding cover incorporated into the upstand. Family crest to lid with'PAX' motto (Peace). Possibly for the Hutton family. See Fairburn's crests of Great Britain. Original blue baize to interior and what appears to be original padded silk inner lid. 9 inches x 4.75 inches x 1.75 inches.

8 inches x 4 inches x 1.25 inches (3cm, to top of upstand). A beautiful and scarce box.
