Smith & Wesson Antique Maroon Hinged Box S&W. 38 Double Action Orange Label RARE
This Smith & Wesson revolver box is VERY RARE. It is the original empty factory box that was a fabric covered, maroon colored, hinged cardboard box. The color has faded some over the last 130 years but the box is in great shape considering age. It has no odor, like some old boxes do, and the orange label is in great shape. The inside lid of the box is printed with Smith & Wesson's DIRECTIONS FOR USE. According to Jim Supica's reference book titled "Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson", 3rd edition this S&W factory box dates from the 1880's. The orange label is intact and attached to the end of the box. It says Smith & Wesson DOUBLE 38 ACTION Nickel 3 1/4 inch. The empty box measures appx.
